Game Dishes in Lucerne

Whatever the hunter brings home ends up on the plate

As long as hunting season lasts, our game menu features what hunters bring in from the forests around Lucerne. Served from the slate board at the entrance—with a view of Lake Lucerne and Mount Pilatus.

Autumnal Game Delights

VILLA Schweizerhof is THE restaurant for game dishes this fall in Lucerne. In addition to our seasonal fall menu, we serve whatever the local hunter brings in—displayed on a slate board at the entrance and subject to change depending on the hunt’s success.

Quietly situated in the park on Lake Lucerne, just a few minutes from the city center. From September 16 to November 29, 2026.

Today's Menu

Two dishes are set in stone—two others vary, depending on the hunt’s bounty.

Minced Venison or Deer
Our classic reimagined: finely minced venison or deer, fried until crispy. The staple of our Game Weeks—no matter what else the hunting season brings.

Holzen Fallow Deer Cutlets from Ennetbürgen
Our signature dish of the season, straight from the region.

Two Game Dishes Depending on the Hunt’s Success
Cutlets, medallions, or stir-fry—made from roe deer, red deer, wild boar, or chamois. The hunter from the region decides what’s on the menu each time.

Guest Winemaker of the Season

Sitenrain Organic Winery, Meggen

Since 2003, organic viticulture driven by passion has been taking shape at the former Sitenrain farm in Meggen—founded by Erika and Ueli Breitschmid and now managed by Nora Breitschmid, operations manager and winemaker. Robust grape varieties grow across 5.5 hectares, yielding fresh white wines, characterful red wines, and fine sparkling wines.

The selection is complemented by Nora’s own vineyards in southern Europe: Tenuta Palmeri in Avola, Sicily, and an organic Garnacha estate run by the Cuartero-Cuarto brothers near Zaragoza—a signature style that stretches from Lake Lucerne to the Mediterranean.
